Often we are willing to put ourselves behind the scenes so that our environment is doing well. We relieve them of tasks, give them gifts and listen to them. In doing so, we often forget to give ourselves the same level of care and love.
Self-care is the way in which we take care of our physical, mental and emotional health. Only you can find out for yourself what helps you and makes you feel good. For some people it is a walk in the fresh air, an intense workout, a warm bath or a pampering beauty program.
If you take time for yourself and your needs, you are by no means selfish. In a world increasingly dominated by constant distraction and the presence of various stimuli, it is all the more important to get into a mode of switching off every now and then. This time is very important for you to reflect on situations, to shed old patterns, to recharge your batteries and to create an environment in which you can grow and be happy.

1. Get enough sleep
Sufficient sleep is extremely important for your performance and your inner balance. Take care every night between 7 and 8 hours to sleep. There are several things that can help you feel more rested and motivated in the morning. For example, try not to use your cell phone in the last half hour before going to bed. Eating too late and overeating can also be a hindrance to healthy sleep. It often also helps to do a relaxing round of yoga before going to sleep to focus your thoughts.
2. Eat a balanced diet
You probably know that a healthy diet is important. However, that does not mean that from now on you have to lead any diet that does not bring you any joy. Instead, make sure that you design your eating style so that you do not have to forego anything and still consume all the important nutrients. It helps to integrate new habits, to acquire nutritional knowledge and, above all, to listen to your body. Do you fancy a piece of chocolate in the evening? Then you shouldn't forbid yourself to do that either. In the end, it's the balance that counts.
3. Make your everyday life more active
It often takes time to get over your inner weaker self, but in the end we always feel better after an intense exercise session or some exercise, right? For example, try to schedule fixed days on which you plan to do half an hour of exercise. It doesn't matter whether you like to train with weights, prefer HIITs, do a dance workout or want to do something good for your body with a yoga session. The main thing is that you have fun. It is important that you only set goals that you can implement in your everyday life so that you are not demotivated by the failures. 4. Make yourself a small present
Often it is the little things in life that make us happy. Think for yourself what you would be happy about and just give yourself a present. Maybe it is fresh flowers the next time you go shopping or a piece of clothing that you have wanted for a long time? It doesn't have to be expensive or material at all. This act is mostly about the gesture. You know best what you would be happy about!
5. Surround yourself with people who will take you further
Say goodbye to people who pull you down and are not by your side on your way to more self-love. Often we allow ourselves to be influenced far too much by negative moods from close quarters. But it is important that you become your best friend yourself and learn to appreciate yourself. Accept that some people may just not be as far as you are and not understand your decisions. There are a lot of people who are happy to support you and who are always behind you!
6. Treat yourself to a beauty day
When was the last time you really let yourself be pampered? Often it is things like a new haircut, a fresh manicure or a soothing face mask that help us to feel more comfortable. Take these moments for yourself and you will find that you will feel much better afterwards. Maybe you will spend the beauty day with your best friend? Positive social contacts also brighten our mood.
7. Take time for yourself and listen to yourself
The last point is actually made up of the previous points and is most important for the path to more self-love and self-care. To understand what is good for you, you have to be able to listen to yourself. This can mean that you have to cancel an appointment because you don't feel like it and would rather do something else; fail at a task and accept it or that you stand up for yourself and say “no” when you want to say “no”. When you have managed to love yourself, your happiness, your holistic health and your desires are of paramount importance. Then you realized that without self-love you will never be able to sincerely love and accept others.
